Marvel's Inhumans Is Dead Last On Box Office Charts This Weekend

The weekend box office estimates (Fri-Sun) are in, and things aren't looking great for Marvel's Inhumans. The movie brought in just $2.6 million globally, earning it the last place in a chart of 25 films tracked by ComScore. Amongst 18 features with domestic box office takes this weekend, Inhumans ranks 15th, with $1.5 million.

Dunkirk clearly won the weekend from a global perspective, raking in $36.5 million for its openings in China and Italy. The Hitman's Bodyguard won in the U.S., with $10.25 million. Still, this Labor Day weekend is the worst in terms of overall domestic box office revenue since 1999.

Though Inhumans wasn't expected to bring in big bucks at the box office, the negative reviews and press circling the show like vultures doesn't bode well for its future when it debuts on ABC on September 29th. With no money and a net negative word of mouth gained from it, one might wonder what purpose was served by releasing the show's first two episodes in IMAX theaters at all.
