Mondo Music Release of the Week: Batman and The Lost Boys!

Mondo releases new vinyl special editions every single Wednesday. They are they ultimate edition of whatever they put out, featuring extensive liner notes, brand-new commissioned artwork, and always have a limited-edition size. The vinyl itself is usually colored or a photo disc, as well. Basically, it's like the Criterion Collection of movie and gaming soundtracks. This week sees the release of the iconic 1989 score to Batman by Danny Elfman, and a double-sided single from The Lost Boys!

Hello All! This week we are honored to present one of the most important scores of the last 30 years: BATMAN (1989). If that sounds hyperbolic – it's not. Danny Elfman's score for BATMAN forever shaped the way we experience superheroes on film, and it was the breakout moment for him as a composer. We are thrilled to present it as a limited expanded edition 2XLP featuring nearly every cue that is heard on screen. We also have the score available as single LP version, as it was originally sequenced for release in 1989. Both versions featuring artwork by Kilian Eng.

Undoubtedly one of the most iconic films of the '80s that sees a group of vampires living in a small Californian community preying on unsuspecting victims. The cast features a veritable who's who of hot young actors – Kiefer Sutherland, Jason Patric, Cory Haim and Corey Feldmen. The film is driven by a killer soundtrack from the likes of Echo & The Bunnymen, Inxs, Roger Daltry and the two cuts included on this double A sided single – Gerard Mcman's 'Cry Little Sister' and Tim Cappelo's 'I Still Believe.' These two songs are probably the best known songs in the movie and are both absolute '80s bangers!

What a great Mondo release day!
