The Mummy – Filming The Zero Gravity Stunt In 360°
The Mummy may have been DoA in the U.S., but globally 'It's Alive!" and about to cross the $300 Million mark. The film is topping most global markets this weekend and one of the centerpiece scenes is the zero-gravity stunt / airplane crash. Universal has now released a 360° video showcasing just how the stunt was filmed. This includes a discussion with star Tom Cruise who went director Alex Kurtzman and pushed for this type of stunt after reading about the plane crash in the script. The video is surprisingly long for a behind-the-scenes piece, clocking in at over 11 minutes, but it is very interesting to watch.
Tom Cruise headlines a spectacular, all-new cinematic version of the legend that has fascinated cultures all over the world since the dawn of civilization: The Mummy.
Thought safely entombed in a tomb deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient princess (Sofia Boutella of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.
From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.
The Mummy is in theaters now.
