New 'Captain Marvel' TV Spot Teases a "Good Look" for Carol Danvers
The promo for Captain Marvel continues. Today, we have another new TV spot and this one is so gloriously '90s that it makes us smile. The marketing seems to be really leaning into the fact that this movie takes place in the '90s which makes for some stuff to watch. This time we get to see a whole lot of Skrull transformation to the tune of "Celebrity Skin" by Hole.
It doesn't get much more '90s than Hole.
We can hope that this movie is going to have a great soundtrack similar to the way that Guardians of the Galaxy used music from the '80s. We haven't really had a Marvel movie really embrace a decade as far as the soundtrack or aesthetic goes outside of the Guardians movies, so it would be nice to see someone else do this within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Summary: Carol Danvers becomes one of the universe's most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.
Anna Boden (first female director for Marvel Studios, only took 21 films) and Ryan Fleck are directing from a script they wrote with Liz Flahive, Carly Mensch, Meg LeFauve, Nicole Perlman, and Geneva Robertson-Dworet.
Captain Marvel stars Oscar winner Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Jude Law as the commander of Starforce (who may or may not have two names), Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Lee Pace returning as Ronan the Accuser, Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, Ben Mendelsohn as Skull Commander Talos, Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau, Algenis Perez Soto, McKenna Grace, and Annette Bening in as-yet-undisclosed roles.
Captain Marvel is set to hit theaters on March 8th 2019 (International Women's Day), and tickets are on sale now.
