New Image Of Katherine Waterston In 'Alien: Covenant' Looks Very Familiar
Empire has released a new image of Daniels (Katherine Waterston) in the upcoming Alien: Covenant, and it looks like something we've seen before. Waterston is rocking nearly the same look as Ripley from the previous movies, so at least we know that director Ridley Scott isn't straying too far from the original source material.
Waterston, to her credit, isn't letting the pressure of trying to live up to the infamous Ripley—or the legacy of the movies that she's now joining—get to her.
"These are things you actively don't think about until you get interview to remind you that you should be pissing yourself," Waterston tells Empire, laughing. "Unlike Sigourney in Alien, [Daniels] is in a survival mode of sorts from the beginning. She's not the captain, but she's a natural leader so in times of crisis she falls into that position quite easily."
It also appears that Scott is getting back to the horror roots of the franchise that Prometheus was lacking.
"It's going to be really scary, this film," says Michael Fassbender.
Summary: The crew of the colony ship Covenant discover what they think is an uncharted paradise, but it is actually a dark, dangerous world, whose sole inhabitant is the synthetic David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
Alien: Covenant is directed by Ridley Scott and stars Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Noomi Rapace, and Guy Pearce. It will be released May 19, 2017.
