Paul Bettany Says The Russos Made The Avengers: Infinity War Set "Stress Free"

One would think that a set like Avengers: Infinity War would be a stressful production. That doesn't appear to be the case though or at least according to actor Paul Bettany. In a new interview with Collider Bettany talks about the production feeling like the biggest movie ever and how the Russo's had a handle on everything.

Yes, it really did. It felt like the biggest movie that I've ever made and will ever make, and we've still got to make the [next] one. It's fucking crazy! I would come in, often at dawn because of the length of my make-up, and there would just be all of these twinkling lights. It looked like a town, but it wasn't. It was where all of the trailers were. It was just massive. It's massive! The call sheets are bananas. When you see the list of cast members, you're like, "How is anybody else making a film in Hollywood, this year? How are they getting films financed? Everybody is in this!"

When it came to controlling the chaos of this production Bettany had nothing but praise for the directing duo.

Oh, fuck yeah! They are so great. They've got so much trust, from the cast and from Kevin Feige and Marvel, in general. They're incredibly on top of the day, when you show up, and they're very open to your input and collaboration. They were incredibly relaxed. It was a wonderful, relaxed set that was stress free. It was a stress free set, which was brilliant.

It's probably a good thing that the there are two directors working on these movies. We know that Avengers: Age of Ultron nearly broke Joss Whedon. The fact that the Russo's have each other to lean on during this daunting task must make everything easier for everyone.

Avengers: Infinity War, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, stars Robert Downey Jr., Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Bettany, Chadwick Boseman, Benedict Wong, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Scarlett Johansson, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Bradley Cooper, and Anthony Mackie. It will be released on May 4th, 2018.
