The John Carter That Could Have Been

Whether you like it or hate it, the Disney John Carter film with Taylor Kitsch did not do fans of the Edgar Rice Burrough's science fiction world any favors. Its flop at the box office means no more exploring the worlds of Carter and Dejah Thoris on the big screen… at least for a while.

But prior to that there was an adaptation in the works over at Paramount with Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow's Kerry Conran set to direct. That project of course never worked out, but Harry Knowles was a producer on the project and has posted a high-res version of the presentation reel (as opposed to the low-res one that's been floating around) and you can get a good idea of what Conran had in mind.
