When Tony Blair Called Sacha Baron Cohen About Kazakhstan

Sacha Baron Cohen talked to the WTF podcast about his life and his work, alongside the release of his new movie Grimsby.

After talking about the many trials and tribulations, brushes with the law, violent Nazis and bouffant theories of clowning, he mentioned that the President of Kazakhstan tried to get Prime Minister Tony Blair to stop the Borat film from being released, with Blair telling him that "we're not a dictatorship I can't do that." And that after leaving office, Blair contacted Cohen to tell him "You put me in a difficult position, we were doing trade with Kazakhstan, you kind of embarrassed me."

But he promised us that Blair thought it was all quite funny.
