Aja Kong, Yuka Sakazaki, Kylie Rae, and Nyla Rose Join AEW for Double or Nothing
It's been a big night in Las Vegas so far at All Elite Wrestling's Double or Nothing rally. We've seen Sonny Kiss announce his intentions, Cody Rhodes announce a partnership with AAA, and Hangman Page and Pac booked as the first official match at Double or Nothing in May. Then the Young Bucks introduced the Best Friends, before being attacked by the Lucha Brothers.
Next up, AEW executive Brandi Rhodes took the stage, taking a moment to wish her brother Jason a happy birthday, which the crowd was more than happy to assist with a chant. But Rhodes was really out to talk about the AEW Women's Division, announcing the signing of two Japanese women. First up, Yuka Sakazaki, who will be at Double or Nothing in May.
Next, Rhodes announced that Aja Kong would be at Double or Nothing, though neither woman was named as AEW exclusive.
Unfortunately, neither were there tonight either, but Rhodes was able to bring out the former "hottest free agent in wrestling" Kylie Rae, who is now signed with AEW.
Rae was wearing a trenchcoat over her red dress, which she told the crowd disappointed her since she bought it just for the event, but it ended up being too cold. After some encouragement from the crowd, Rae braved the freezing temperatures and removed the trenchcoat to applause. She then announced intentions to take the women's division of AEW by storm.
Next up, Rhodes announced the signing of Nyla Rose, who also took the stage poolside to confront Rae.
After a tense faceoff in the ring, security separated the women, ending the segment.
Double or Nothing will take place on May 25th. Tickets go on sale to the general public on February 12th, but if you head to AllEliteWrestling.com now, you can sign up to receive a pre-sale code by email on February 11th.
Tonight's press conference is AEW's second big event after the rally the held in Florida earlier this year. There, the company announced several major signings, including Chris Jericho, PAC, Britt Baker, Joey Janella and Penelope Ford, and Hangman Page. Since then, Rey Fenix and Pentagon Jr. have also joined the new promotion, and tonight's rally promises even more big surprises. Follow along with Bleeding Cool as we'll be bringing you breaking news from the event as it happens.
