Always Sunny, Page 7, Conan O'Brien & More: BCTV Best Podcasts of 2022
Podcasts have gotten us through this year in many different ways, but for me, there are some that have risen above all others. From comedy to advice, the wide variety of podcasts and the topics they address will likely get us through another year in many ways. Let me tell you about my top favorite podcasts of 2022 that won't randomly lead your nephew down the alt-right pipeline (I'm looking at you, Andrew Tate).
How Did This Get Made?
Regularly hosted by Paul Scheer, June Diane-Raphael, and Jason Mantzoukas, this comedy podcast has continued to reintroduce old episodes through weekly releases of "Matinee Mondays" and connect to audiences through live shows. This trio continued to make me laugh all year through virtual shows and new films to dissect the absurdity of.
The Basement Yard
This conversational comedy podcast is a newly found favorite this year and is hosted by Joe Santagato and often co-hosted by Frank Alvarez. Some of the most hilarious conversations can be heard between these two friends. If there were a real-life Nick and Schmidt dynamic from New Girl, it would be the two men on this podcast. It's rare, but I'm ok with these men owning microphones.

The Always Sunny Podcast
From chaotic morning recordings to competing against one another via medical records, Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton & Rob McElhenney navigate the memories and hopes for their series It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Meanwhile, Megan Ann Ganz leads the podcast episodes and continues to be a fucking hilarious comedy gem every time.

Musical improvisational introductions and blind items that have led me to believe that Tom Cruise fucks fish at the seafood market make up this absolutely hilarious pop culture podcast. It features hosts Jackie Zebrowski, Holden McNeely, and MJ Knefel discussing current pop culture news and interacting with their community in such loving and hilarious ways.
Perfect Person
When Miles Bonsignore continued to expand his podcasting horizons by continuing on The Try Pod and developing his very own at the same time. Miles gives advice that will…well, it'll go for miles. Fan questions are answered and hilarious stories are shared in heartfelt moments connecting the audience and podcast host.
The Last Podcast on the Left
Henry Zebrowski, Marcus Parks, and Ben Kissel explore the world of the supernatural, true crime, cryptids, and more in this hilarious podcast. With excellent research skills and conversations highlighting important details, this trio has made this year excellent with a wide variety of content covered.
Violating Community Guidelines
Two of the funniest content creators and comedians on the internet, who also happen to be friends as well as roommates, examine the corners of the internet we've come to love and become confused by. Brittany Broski and Sara Schauer continue to be great when making content on their own or together, and I'm thankful for this hilarious podcast's existence.
Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend
Conan O'Brien interviews other big names and unique individuals across this country on his podcast with the help of co-hosts Sona Movsesian and Matt Gourley. These episodes continue to prove how fantastic the dynamic between these three can be on its own or with a special guest. It's definitely a podcast that's helped me get out of my own head when I've needed it, and it's also helped me get a decent fit of laughter.

Ladies & Tangents
An honest, hilarious, and insightful podcast can be found with these hosts, Jeri Stein and Ciara Herron, who are not only best friends but are cousins as well. It's truly similar to listening to conversations you'd have with your closest friend. Some of the best episodes tend to involve relatable ADHD stories and discussions concerning religious deconstruction.
The Judgies
There are a ton of favorite "r/AmITheAsshole" related podcasts out there. Still, this one has some fantastic moments just being able to witness reactions to stories via their YouTube videos of the episodes. The hosts include Christian, Erika, and Josh. These three have a fantastic conversation about these often ridiculous stories in a way that feels like you're in the same conversation with them already.

Special Mention: My Dad Wrote a Porno
It's hard to find the right words for the fantastic way this podcast series has wrapped up its own timeline and the year itself. Jamie Morton, James Cooper, and Alice Levine are the only three who could navigate the world of Belinda Blinked from the mind of Rocky Flintstone. Selling pots and pans while having confusing sexual encounters has never sounded so funny or intriguing. I wanted to give a special shout-out to a podcast that has had a fantastic eight-year run, and that has read aloud some absurd yet interesting erotic writing from Morton's own father. Belinda and her crew (even Bella) are always going to be a favorite of mine.
