Dropout has revealed the next series coming to their platform as they dropped a brand new trailer for Monét's Slumber Party. This all-new series will star drag icon and award-winning host Monét X Change, as they essentially host an edgy but playful queer variety talk show. Monét will welcome a variety of guests, including friends, comedians, and other celebrities, to an adult sleepover, complete with everyone dressing up in their own nightwear. We're not sure if this is just a new addition to the channel or if it's replacing anything, but it's nice to see Dropout add a new variety talk show that doesn't feel like the same thing on other channels. We have more info and the trailer here as the series kicks off on July 16.
Monét's Slumber Party
Combining honest conversation with a little mischief, Monét's Slumber Party will tackle taboo subjects like sex, dating and relationships with openness and humor. Each episode of the six-episode first season will bring Monét together with four guests for games, storytelling, how-to-segments and more. The talk variety series – the first of its kind on Dropout's platform – will premiere July 19th, with new episodes launching every other Friday.
Guests this season include recurring Dropout talent (Sam Reich, Brennan Lee Mulligan, Isabella Roland, Grant O'Brien, Oscar Montoya, among others) in addition to celebrity guests like Adam Rippon, Rachel Bloom and Joel Kim Booster; drag queens like Kim Chi, Naomi Smalls, Jujubee, Alaska Thunderfuck, Bob the Drag Queen, Meatball and Persephone Valentine; and comedians like Atsuko Okatsuka and Roz Hernandez. Like Pee-Wee's Playhouse, the set comes to life with in-universe characters (cameos, puppets) who transition us to new segments, do interstitial bits, commentate on what's happening, and serve as general helpers and friends in Monét's world. Recurring characters this season include Priscilla Davies, Jonathan Kidder, and Kevin McDonald.
