Jamie Chung Is Blink In The Bryan Singer Untitled Fox Marvel Project
In 2016 Fox put to pilot for a new Marvel action-adventure series under the watchful eye of Bryan Singer and Matt Nix. While the title of the series remains unknown the casting has begun. Marvel announced today that actress Jamie Chung has been cast as mutant Clarice Fong, aka Blink, who is described as a "sarcastic and lively tomboy." She is going to be a series regular and is a well liked and established character within the X-Men canon. Blink has the powers of teleportation and she was featured in the future scenes of X-Men: Days of Future Past and portrayed by Bingbing Fan.
The series is about a family who finds out that their two kids are mutants, must go on the run, and eventually joins up with an underground mutant resistance.
Clarice's naturally strong exuberance has taken a hit after a sudden and traumatic upheaval of her life. As she adjusts to the new people and places that are suddenly 'home,' Clarice is slowly becoming herself again.
Chung joins Blair Redford who was previously cast as Sam, the leader of the mutant resistance. It is unknown what timeline this series is going to follow since it's all so convoluted. It's probably best to just say "because X-Men" and brush off any of the inconsistencies. While 20th Century Fox is going to handle the physical production they will team up with Marvel Television to produce. There is no release date.
