Life is Strange Casts Barratt, Carey, McGregor, Rakotohavana & Isaac

Prime Video's upcoming Life is Strange adaptation has cast Billy Barratt, Emily Carey, Esther McGregor, Faly Rakotohavana, and Mia Isaac.

The cast of Prime Video and Showrunner Charlie Covell's Maisy Stella (Nashville) and Tatum Grace Hopkins (Meek)-starring series adaptation of the hit video game Life is Strange continued to grow. Earlier today, Variety reported exclusively that Billy Barratt (Invasion), Emily Carey (House of the Dragon), Esther McGregor (We Were Liars), Faly Rakotohavana (UnPrisoned), and Mia Isaac (The Perfect Couple) have joined the cast. The five join a lineup that includes Stella, Hopkins, Tom Cullen (House of the Dragon), Leisha Hailey (The L Word: Generation Q), Raúl Castillo (The Walking Dead: Dead City), and Owen Teague (Black Mirror)

Cullen plays Mark Jefferson, Max's teacher, with Hailey is tapped to play Joyce Price, Chloe's mother. Castillo plays David Madsen, Chloe's stepfather. Teague is set as Frank Bowers, a local drug dealer. Barratt stars as Nathan, one of Chloe and Max's classmates. Carey plays Victoria Chase, one of Nathan's best friends. McGregor plays Rachel Amber, the student who goes missing. Rakotohavana plays Warren, another friend of Max's. Isaac stars as Kate Marsh, a good friend of Max's.

The streaming series adaptation follows Max (Hopkins), a photography student, who discovers she can rewind time while saving the life of her childhood best friend, Chloe (Stella). As she struggles to understand this new skill, the pair investigates the mysterious disappearance of a fellow student, uncovering a dark side to their town that will ultimately force them to make an impossible life-or-death choice that will impact them forever.

"I am a massive fan of the game, and I'm thrilled to be working with the incredible teams at Square Enix, Story Kitchen, and LuckyChap. I can't wait to share Max and Chloe's story with fellow players and new audiences alike."

Covell will executive-produce, as will Dmitri M. Johnson, Mike Goldberg, and Timothy I. Stevenson under their Story Kitchen banner. The series stems from Square Enix, Story Kitchen, and LuckyChap, with Amazon MGM Studios producing.
