Supergirl Season 3: Sam Must Go on a Hero's Journey to Stop Reign
The CW has released a new behind-the-scenes video for tonight's season finale of Supergirl. This has been an interesting season with the introduction of Reign (Odette Annable) and the Worldkillers, the return of Mon-El (Chris Wood) with the Legion of Superheroes, the introduction of M'yrnn J'onzz (Carl Lumbly), and the discovery of Argo City and that Alura Zor-El (Erica Durance) was still alive. That's a surprising number of big things in one season.
And that's not even mentioning the more personal stories like the flashback to young Kara and Alex, Alex (Chyler Leigh) ending her relationship with Maggie (Floriana Lima), Winn (Jeremy Jordan) reconnecting with his mother (Laurie Metcalf), and James (Mehcad Brooks) getting into a relationship with Lena (Katie McGrath)… and wasn't there something going on with Morgan Edge (Adrian Pasdar)?
In the video, executive producers Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner set up the finale and how everyone comes together to fight Reign and the Sister of Juru. But they also talk about how important Samantha Arias is to this battle and how she will have to step up to protect herself and her daughter. They describe it as her own hero's journey. I have a feeling that it's going to be an emotional finale — one where we may be saying goodbye to a few people.
Supergirl airs tonight at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
