The Blacklist: Megan Boone Pledges No More Assault Rifles for Liz Keen
Megan Boone, who plays FBI Special Agent Elizabeth Keen on the NBC series The Blacklist, is from Florida and was obviously shaken like most of us by the shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. Yesterday Boone posted the following message to her twitter feed: "Liz Keen will never carry an assault rifle again and I am deeply sorry for participating in glorifying them in the past. Yours, girl from Florida."
The response to the message has been mostly positive and supportive, but some fans questioned separating fiction from reality and why a trained FBI agent wouldn't carry an assault rifle in some situations. While Boone didn't address all of the comments, she did the latter stating basically Keen isn't a member of a SWAT team.
Boone's character mainly uses a handgun, rarely using anything else so the change shouldn't be that noticeable. Her co-start James Spader who plays Raymond Reddington, has on many occasions gone for assault rifles in certain situations.
The Blacklist returns Wednesday February 28th at 8 PM on NBC.
