The Last of Us: Pedro Pascal Reveals "Real" Reason for Injury (VIDEO)

The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal revealed the "real reason" for his injury - Succession star Kieran Culkin?!? Not really - but it's funny...

Before last week's big casting rollout brought us the news that Kaitlyn Dever (No One Will Save You, Last Man Standing) had been tapped for the key role of skilled soldier Abby, Beef star Young Mazino had been tapped for the role of Jesse, and Isabela Merced (Madame Web, Maya and the Three) had been tapped as Dina, a near scare. With production getting underway on the second season of Craig Mazin & Neil Druckmann's Pedro Pascal (Joel) & Bella Ramsey (Bella)-starring The Last of Us, there was some concern because Pascal had been sporting a sling – the result of a shoulder injury from a fall at home. Thankfully, it looks like Pascal will be okay – he shared that he has surgery at the end of the month – and that it won't impact Season 2 filming. But now, Pascal has used the occasion of the 2023 Emmy Awards to reveal the real truth behind his injury: "Keiran Culkan beat the shit out of me." What?!? Okay, not really (did we really need to tell you that) – but Pascal was having some fun responding to what Culkin had to say regarding Pascal when Culkin won the Golden Globes award for Best Actor in a TV Drama.

During his acceptance speech at the Golden Globes, Culkin shared with the audience about his win, "I was nominated for a Golden Globe like 20 years ago, and when that moment passed, I still remember thinking, 'I'm never going to be back in this room again.' But thanks to 'Succession,' I've been in here a couple times." And then Culkin added, "Suck it, Pedro!" – which got an excellent from Pascal and the audience. Here's a look at Culkin getting the joke started – followed by Pascal's Emmys response:
