WWE Star Shotzi Apologizes for Meatloaf Tweet
WWE star Shotzi (nee: Blackheart) apologized Sunday for a tweet she says unintentionally disparaged deceased rocker Meatloaf, claiming to feel "very gross" over the "disrespectful and insensitive" tweet. Shotzi originally tweeted like a bat out of hell, "Whoa. I ate meatloaf last night. RIP." after learning of the legendary singer and actor's death, but she took the words right out of her mouth by deleting the tweet within a few minutes.
"I honestly was not trying to make a joke about Meatloaf's passing," Shotzi claimed. "I legitimately made a meatloaf on Thursday while listening to 'paradise by the dashboard light' on repeat so I was shocked by the coincidence and impulsively posted about it. I took down the post immediately within a few minutes because I quickly realized it was disrespectful and insensitive when in reality I am actually a huge fan."
Taking down the tweet and apologizing so sincerely left social media culture warriors all revved up with no place to go now that they were unable to attack Shotzi for the tweet.
"This has really consumed me and I feel very gross," Shotzi continued. "I'm genuinely sorry to the friends and family that saw that post. I cant stop thinking about how that might have made anyone close to him feel."
Celebrity deaths usually come in threes, but thankfully, only two celebrities passed away on January 21st — Meatloaf and beloved comedian and actor Louie Anderson — leaving optimists to reason, two out of three ain't bad. With so many celebrity deaths in 2021 and 2022 already off to a depressing start, heaven can wait for more of our beloved celebrities, for crying out loud.
