So… What Errors Can You Find In The Death And Return Of Superman Omnibus?

We recently ran a piece on DC reprinting and replacing all printed copies of the Batman: Bruce Wayne, Murderer? collection at considerable expense due to missed and out-of-order chapters.

But what level of error demands such a reprint? Once, a faulty panel in a Crisis Of Infinite Earths deluxe hardcover saw the whole print run pulped and replaced, and Rick Taylor fired as a result. But mistakes creep in everywhere.

Take the Death And Return Of Superman Omnibus from last year. Coimpared to the original comics…

From the Legacy Pf Superman special, the Newsboys were talking about cloning the Guardian in different colors and genders.

But when you see it in the Omnibus, page 326, the clone in the middle panel is miscolored as white, rather missing the point of the caption.

There are some odder errors when you get Adventures of Superman #500. Check out this panel from page 5.

When you get to that panel in the Omnibus, page 429, a new bit of a dialogue is added.

image4

It wouldn't make much difference, except that dialogue is then also repeated on the following page, as in the original comic.

Then there's the dialogue on page 430 (the same in both)…

…which is duplicated on page 438.

When it fact that page should have been…

And if you were looking for comprehensiveness, the volume misses out Supergirl & Team Luthor Special, Justice League America #70 and Newstime: Life and Death of Superman Special

Any more for any more?
