Has Star-Lord Already Been Cancelled At Marvel? More Reading Of The Amazon Tea-Leaves
Time to read the Amazon tea leaves for Marvel Comics again… not so much for what might be being cancelled but also what has sticking power right now.
The last issue of Star-Lord solicited in June was for #8 of the series. The fourth volume of the trade paperback only has issues 6 to 8, then fills the rest with classic reprints of Avengers #28, #51 and #174. This might indicate that there will be no further issues of the series after June and it's a stealth solicitation.
But some books have friends. Despite being one of Marvels lowest selling books Agents of SHIELD gets a second arc starting in July and going up to October at least and a Civil War tie in too.
Agent Coulson and his crew are caught in the middle of Civil War II, and opinions are split among them. But they remain Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and have a job to do: Protect the innocent and apprehend a major Marvel Universe character. As they near their target, divisions begin to grow and positions harden, but what's on Coulson's mind may change everything!
While low-selling Nova will go up to September at least, with John Timms, as the story of Nova's father comes to a close.
Now that the events with his father have come to a close, Sam Alexander has earned himself a little R&R. But even though he's gone on a trip with his mom and sister, trouble is never far behind the Human Rocket!
Annihilus. Ultron. Fin Fang Foom. They were all pieces of cake. Now, Drax prepares to take on the toughest challenge of his life… a gaggle of (partially traumatized) alien children who need to get back to their home planets. Don't worry! Drax will find other stuff to destroy. Like maybe…nap times? Homework? Poo poo diapies?
Spider Woman goes up to at least #12 in October. And Web Warriors goes up to #11 in September.
Silk goes up to at least November as she visits the Negative Zone
Cindy Moon, AKA Silk, finally catches a break in her search for her family. But she's in for trouble when the trail leads her to the Negative Zone!!!
With Marvel probably being down to 35-40 ongoing series by the end of Civil War, I wonder if they intend to relaunch everything again at that point? Utterly Distinct Marvel Now?
Star Wars: A New Hope gets a paperback release. But the collection of Star Wars: Rogue One, rushed to release, might have spent a little longer on the contents…
