Mass Effect: Andromeda Won't Utilise Your Old Save Game
One of the coolest things, and arguably, what made Mass Effect so special at the time of its release was how it read your save file and gave you a trilogy of games to craft your on running story. It was quite brilliant.
However, don't expect your save to have any say on the upcoming Mass Effect: Andromeda. In an interview with Eurogamer, Bioware's studio boss Aaryon Flynn confirmed that the game wouldn't be looking at your old save. He explained:
We want this to be a new story and it would be very hard to say it's a new story but also that you need to understand how [the past trilogy] ended
With Andromeda so removed from the original trilogy, this does somewhat make sense. Also, the fact that many saves will be lost in old-gen hardware, and people have swapped what consoles they have, it sounds like a nightmare. This would seem to make sense in my eyes.
