This Week, Marvel Will Whip DC In Sales Figures, As Again We Get No DC Rebirth Titles

STL013484DC Comics likes to run a tight ship. To keep every comic book it can published on time by means of replacing artists half way through issues, running a line of inventory stories and basically coming down like a tonne of bricks on those who don't comply.

And they have been running to a strict four-week-a-month schedule for DC Rebirth. Which means when you get a fifth week in a month, it's a place to put late books, annuals, and a special or two.

And this week, that means no titles from DC Comics much welcomed DC Rebirth line. And, instead, a smattering of odds and ends. The late-and-partially cancelled Bryan Hitch Justice League Of America should be top ten fodder, Harley Quinn And Her Gang of Harleys may squeeze in, there's even a possibility of the retro Suicide Squad War Crimes by John Ostrander making an appearance.

But for chart position, and sales, it is going to be a poor Wednesday for DC Comics. This is their lineup of single issues.

ART OPS #11 (MR) $3.99
DC COMICS BOMBSHELLS ANNUAL #1 $4.99
EARTH 2 SOCIETY ANNUAL #1 $4.99
FUTURE QUEST #4 $3.99
GOTHAM ACADEMY ANNUAL #1 $4.99
HARLEY QUINN AND HER GANG OF HARLEYS #5 (OF 6) $3.99
JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #9 $3.99
LEGEND OF WONDER WOMAN #9 (OF 9) $3.99
SUICIDE SQUAD WAR CRIMES SPECIAL #1

In comparison, Marvel Comics has the likes of a Dead No More Amazing Spider-Man, Civil War II Choosing Sides, a Han Solo, a Spider-Gwen, a Spider-Man, an Uncanny Avengers and an X-Men 92. Not a stellar sales week for Marvel, but it's something, and will whip DC Comics easy.

Which gives other publishers a chance to step up. The launch of TMNT Universe and X-Files Origins? A new Saga and Jupiter's Legacy? The launch of World Of Tanks and a new issue of 4001 AD? Even a new issue of Afterlife With Archie? The launch of Reincarnate and a new Zombie Tramp?

Could be an interesting Wednesday as folk have an opportunity to try something new… and if DC Comics keep this up, other publishers may target their comics for this week.

Marvel, dead no more…
