A Solar Flare Every Month

About two years ago I launched my very first Kickstarter campaign for issue #1 of my comic series called Solar Flare. Here's a quick description of what the books are about:

Solar Flare is a modern-day story were a massive x-class solar flare hits Earth wiping out all electronics and electricity. It's all based on real science that has happened before, and can very well happen again. Our story is about Jake Clifford and is close friends. Jake's main goal is to travel from FL to TN in this new electronic less world to reunite with his daughter. Jake's scientist friend, Dr. Jerry Wilman, recruits Jake to help him get to a secret military base that is on the way to TN. This compound is going to act as ground zero in re-establishing the countries electrical infrastructure. Society as whole starts to unravel quickly right before their eyes, making their journey more and more dangerous with every day that passes.

Rich and the other fine folks at Bleeding Cool were nice enough to even publish an article helping me promote that first campaign. Those 30+ days were full of ups and downs. I was determined to do everything possible to make my childhood dream of creating my own comic book come true. We were lucky enough to get funded in the second to last day of the campaign and we haven't looked back since. After launching five additional Kickstarter campaigns for subsequent issues (about one every quarter) we were picked up by Scout Comics in December of last year.

Scout Comics has published some amazing titles over the past two years (Hench Girl, Once Our Land, Smoketown, Mindbender just to name a few) and we are so very proud to be one of the many books Scout will be publishing in 2017 and beyond. The goal from the beginning for myself and my wonderful creative team was to publish Solar Flare 10 to 12 times a year until our story was completely told. I'm happy to say that by the time the Scout edition of issue #1 comes out in April (Diamond code FEB171845), we will already have eleven FULL issues complete and ready to publish.
