Matt Ryan Teases John Constantine's Return On Legends Of Tomorrow
One of the big stories during the summer was that DC's Legends of Tomorrow wanted Matt Ryan to reprise his role as John Constantine this season. Ryan first appeared as the exorcist, demonologist, and master of the dark arts in the short lived NBC series Constantine. Fan reaction to him as the character was extremely positive, even if the show itself failed.
He was then asked to step over to the Arrowverse and appear in both the modern day and flashbacks in season 4 of Arrow. He helped bring back the soul of Sara Lance (Caity Lotz). He also provided the voice for Constantine in the Justice League Dark animated series. And along with his planned appearance on Legends, he will also voice the character in a CW Seed animated series starting in 2018.
What we know about his upcoming visit to the Waverider is that it takes place in the 10th episode of the season, called 'Daddy Darhkest'. This obviously being a reference to Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) and his daughter Eleanor (Courtney Ford) who we meet for the first time this evening. Word is that Constantine is being brought in to deal with an exorcist and it would make sense that Sara would call him in after her experience with him. Expect to see the episode sometime in December or January, depending on the winter hiatus.
Ryan has taken to Twitter to tease his return to the trench coat with the following images:
DC's Legends of Tomorrow airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on the CW.
