Could the All-New X-Men Go Back to Their Original Timeline After All? (X-Men Blue #16 Spoilers)
Oh bloody hell. Brian Bendis announced he's leaving Marvel Comics (Iron Man #600 will be his last) and suddenly all his plots are up in the air again. Originally the Beats brought back the original X-Men from an earlier point in their lives in an attempt to shame Cyclops into looking at what he had become.
Instead they got stuck and couldn't go back. It was confirmed that they were of this timeline, after young Cyclops died for a few minutes…
…and adult Cyclops disappeared. Even though that's not how Marvel time is meant to work.
Then they tried to go back…
….to find that somehow they'd never left, or were from a different timeline…
….as their original selves were still in the timeline.
Even though that's not how Marvel time is meant to work.
And in today's X-Men Blue #16… it's time for them to go back again.
Because whatever happened last time they tried suddenly doesn't count. Because… magic?
And get ready for a sequel to the classic Marvel story arc from Excalibur, the Cross-Time Caper! Could it be time to put these toys back in the box?
Oh and one last note regarding the cover…
Professor X does not appear in this comic book.
X-Men Blue #16 by Cullen Bunn, Thony Silas and Rain Beredo is published by Marvel Comics today.
