Aaron Haaland of A Comic Shop in Orlando, Florida, writes;

Hey Fandom! It's me, Aaron, for A Comic Show's New Comics Now! This week Deadpool kills, Charles Soule thrills, Larfleeze steals, and Speed Demon's mentally ill (poor little puppy).

Starting with DC, Green Lantern #22 continues the battle with Larfleeze. Hal isn't the great trainer or leader the Corps needs, but he's the one they deserve. The new recruits start to hold their own. Venditti brings hope, but kills love. I'm still optimistic about this new GL direction, so far so good. It's got action, death, a looming big bad guy complete with October's crossover, but it feels like the characters are driving the plot. Venditti is finding his voice for Hal. Pandora was way better than I hoped for. I really couldn't have cared less about her. I know she's important, New 52 has beaten that into me, but who is she and why should I care? Fawkes opens up with the answer to both thousands of years ago with her dying son, and then brought her fight against the seven deadly sins she "birthed" all the way to 2013. Sure, this was exposition heavy and full of set up, but its set up that made me feel something for her and want to know more. It didn't just rely on how important she is to Trinity War. I mean, sure that's still there on the cover and cliffhanger – this is a prequel to that war. Swamp Thing #22 gave me what I love most, the Alec and Constantine dynamic! This is red meat for lovers of the Green! We got more Seeder, a freaking Whiskey Tree, and Constantine pulling a Custer! This again is part one of two part story, Soule gets in and out fast, and is quickly becoming one of my top writers.
Speaking of Soule, he's on Thunderbolts this issue and you know I liked it you just don't know why yet. It explains the Punisher/Elektra thing with Frank's internal monologue stating it's over with her, but his words to her are simply, "not tonight, dear". I'm barely paraphrasing here. This issue was brilliant. Avengers A.I. was fun, Deadpool Kills Deapool was crazy, but Superior Foes of Spider-man was the book of the week! Nick Spencer makes you root for Boomerang, hate Speed Demon, and feel sorry for Shocker. His characterization is so engaging here I'm offering a money back guarantee to all Spider-fans at my shop. No, it's not another Spider-book, its Nick Spencer doing bad guys. That's worth your time and money.

As far as non-superhero books go we got some great follow up issues to Next Testament and Ten Grand as well as a new Image #1. Fraction's Satellite Sam worked. Sex, death, live TV in the black & white TV era, and nothing says old timey AND kinky like Chaykin!
