A Comics Rival To Kickstarter? iVerse Launches Comics Accelerator

I was wondering when an American comics company would create their own crowd-funding model. My money was on Marvel. but they've been beaten to it by iVerse Media with Comics Accelerator. Pre registration is now open and the system will open in August.

The difference is that more of the monies raised will go to the creation – and the creators – of the comic book, while also offering the company's digital distribution and marketing systems as part of the whole process, so that digital rewards can be delivered instantly once funded, where publishers can group their titles together – and a reserve goals being set as well as final targets, so they can still choose to accept funds towards a projects even if they don't been their full target.

Comics Accelerator will charge 5% of the final funding, but caps it at $2500. The creator is then also able to buy iVerse services if they wish. Here, take a look…
