A Nod To Waco's KWTX Local 10 News Coverage Of Heart Of Texas Comic-Con

I've found it interesting as the popularity of Comic Book related properties grow and conventions spread to new cities, often times the local news sends out one of their reporters. The problem being that the reporters tend to focus on the people in costume and forget that there are other things going on. Yes the people in costume make good television, I get that.

heartWell, this weekend we have the first ever (according to the reporter) comic-con in Waco, Texas and KWTX sent out a news crew. The reporter did a fair amount of coverage of cosplayers… but they also talked to regular fans, showed some of the celebrity guests and even spoke to the creator of the Heart Of Texas Comic Con Aaron Foster.

Its just a short piece but I think its far better than most of the news coverage I have seen by local stations. And since it ran on Saturday there is the chance someone saw it and decided to go to the con on Sunday.
