Americans Idolized By Aspen

Comic fans have voted on the endings of comic book stories before now. They have voted on which stories will continue. They've voted on who lives and who dies.

But now, Aspen are launching a new version of audience participation, in which readers can vote for the looks of characters appearing in their first superhero comic book, Idolized.

Friend of Bleeding Cool, David Schwartz has created a whole bunch of characters for the series but doesn't yet know what they look like. Because that's down to you.

Artist Mitchell Gunnell has created three looks for each character and you get to pick your favourites, with a new character vote occurring each Monday. Regenerate and The Present are up first.

Sadly it's more of a costume thing than a complete reinvention. I want the kind of comic where you can choose gender, body type, sexuality, the lot. And then switch half way through if you're getting bored…
