And Finally… A Wicked + A Divine Pole Dance Show In A Comic Store
Fantom Comics is a comic book store in Washington DC. But it's not your traditional store (if there even is such a thing). And last month they held a The Wicked + The Divine pole dance show based on the comic by Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie published by Image about gods manifested as pop cultural icons.
Madylene Hatter posted her pole performance from the store, performing as Tara, on YouTube..
Can't see the 1-2-3-snap right before the spoiler ending, but it's there.
Tara seemed the most appropriate character for this event bc of the stigma around the pole community, the struggle to express oneself through art instead of catering to what people demand/expect, and her clothing is already pole appropriate (FYI for non-polers- if your skin isn't free, you'll fall off, so show some skin for safety's sake!). I could wax on about Tara and WicDiv, but I'll leave it at that :D
There were a number of performers at the show, and Baalyoucaneat took plenty of photos of the performers,
You know what, no one does this for Kieron Gillen's Darth Vader.
Yet.
