Art From Spider-Man: The Lost Hunt by J.M. DeMatteis, Eder Messias
Bleeding Cool previously talked about Spider-Man: The Lost Hunt, a series teased in the final issue of Ben Reilly: Spider-Man, one of Marvel's retro series where Marvel creators tell stories set during their previous classic runs. It's weaponized nostalgia, sure, but that describes about 95% of comics output these days. Bleeding Cool Rumourmonger-in-Chief Rich Johnston guessed the series would be written by J.M. DeMatteis, as was the Ben Reilly series, and that it would revisit the time between Kraven's Last Hunt and its sequel, Soul of the Hunter.
At the Diamond Retailer Lunch at San Diego Comic-Con, we've got some of that confirmed, as well as news that Eder Messias will be the artist on the series, which is described as a "direct spiritual sequel" to Kraven's Last Hunt. And we also got a look at the cover and some interior art.
It seems that The Lost Hunt will reveal Kraven's origins, and who doesn't love a good origin story? And more importantly, what publisher doesn't love having extra trade paperbacks to sell when the Kraven movie hits theaters in 2022? None that we've ever heard of, true believers. Spider-Man: The Lost Hunt kicks off in November!
