Blackstars #2 Will Feature The Cruelest Portrayal of Superman Grant Morrison Has Ever Done

Blackstars #1 is in stores today, but DC Comics is already moving on to next month's Blackstars #2, with a press release offering an unlettered preview of the issue on DC's website. It also reveals that Blackstars #2 will be a "roast" of modern comics, according to writer Grant Morrison, who also said that it will feature the "cruelest portrayal of Superman" that Morrison has ever done.

Check out the press release and preview below.

Cosmic Vampire Princess Countess Belzebeth is back!

The Darkness of the Blackstars Continues! Next Target: Earth!

"It's my cruelest portrayal of Superman that I've ever done, that makes him out to be the worst he can possibly be. I'm hoping people will really dig it, because it's almost a roast of modern comics, including my own." –Grant Morrison

Hal Jordan and the Blackstars will stop at nothing to bend the planet to its leader's whims, and Earth's greatest heroes pull out all the stops to fight these fascists. Betrayals of cosmic consequence abound! And why is Earth's sun turning orange? We can only hope Superman figures that one out before it's too late…
