Bleeding Cool Bestseller List 1st March 2015 – Batman Beats Spider-Gwen. Just.
This is the Top Ten Bleeding Cool Bestseller List, as compiled by a number of comic stores from their sales on Wednesday and Thursday. It measures what are known as the "Wednesday Warriors", those who can't wait to the weekend to get this week's comics. We salute you, and the keenness you bring to your passion.
And this week saw Batman almost, but not quite, beaten by Spider-Gwen, with a few stres seeing her top the charts, and both ahead of Darth Vader and Spider-Man. The Thor Annual got a boost but Batman Eternal was lower down the chart than I have seen before…

Who had this to say…
This week was about Marvel, 7 spots taken, leading with Darth Vader #2 taking the trophy for 1st place. DC comics only top 10 this week was Batman who took second place. Spider Gwen sold well but sold more variants then the actual regular cover not many people were interested in the story. Wrestling fans came in to support CM PUNK's Thor annual. Bee and Puppy Cat takes 7th as the gamers seem to like this book. Chew rounds out the top ten. Dc sales continue to drop this week as pull box fans pull almost 20% of their titles off their pull list and add either Marvel or Indy titles.
Wow, what a crazy week in new books! Some massive heavy hitters here in the shop this week. Batman, as always was a juggernaut, and was definitely one of the most discussed books in shop this week with all the Joker craziness! But for the first time since Snyder took over, in a week where Batman came out, it was not our #1 book. Darth Vader took the top spot and people continue to love the new Marvel Star Wars line. Spider-Gwen 1 sold awesome, with a heavy buzz among customers and online. We had people flocking to the shop for not only the regular edition but also retailer incentive and the Phantom Variant. Hope Marvel handles her well because right now fans cannot get enough of her! Criminals return sold massive, as well as the new SUICIDERS book. All in all an incredible week in comics!
Lots of people looking for back issues of Ms. Marvel this week. Looks like internet hype is finally translating to sales!
Good week for books with a lot of heavies and anticipated stuff coming out.
Batman is an unstoppable force at our store. #1 in sales every time it comes out. DC only had 2 titles in our top ten and both had Bat in the name.Marvel had all the remaining spots on the list. Wrestling fans drove Thor Annual in to the #2 spot. Spider-Gwen did very well and, I imagine, will continue to sell over the next few months. Star Wars books have brought in a lot of new faces, just not ones ready to be here when we open on Wednesdays. Darth Vader did well but only took #6 on our list.
Combining the sales of the magazine edition and standard book, the Criminal one-shot just barely missed the top ten. But damn if I wasn't excited to finally see it back.
Orphan Black didn't sell too well but I could see it selling over time.
Biggest bummer of the week- our store sold ZERO copies of Fantastic Four #643 off the shelf. None.
Saga, Saga, Saga and more Saga tps. Cannot keep them on the shelf. A lot more interest in Dark Horse Star War tps. Toy sales are way up too.
The weather once again delayed the new comics. We were lucky enough to get them on Wednesday this time. Unlike last week when we received the new comics on Friday. We received our comics before another local store received theirs and had their customers coming in that couldn't wait which added to our sales. Batman was almost sold out by Wednesday. Batman Eternal came in second. Spider-Gwen is off to a solid start. Darth Vader 2 was a bigger drop off than I expected from the previous issue but still decent sales. The Thor Annual sold out Wednesday even though I ordered the same amount of issues that the regular title sells. Secret Origins 10 sold out Wednesday. Lots of people in trying to hunt down a copy.
Superman back issues were moving this week. Star Wars 1st series from Marvel getting some love. And of course Batman back issues. New 52 and Pre New 52. Because its Batman.
