Captain America Comic Rockets In Value Over Avengers: Endgame (Spoilers)
We mentioned how one event from the movie Avengers: Endgame had sent the value of one Thor back issue rocketing. And previously how Hulk #377 had been booming on the back of the portrayal of the Hulk in the movie – it also went up ten or twenty bucks in recent days. Well, here's another. And again it relies on Avengers Endgame spoilers.
A few days ago, you could buy the final issue of Rick Remender's Captain America #25 drawn by Carlos Pacheco for two to three bucks. Now? Not so much.
The final pages of thhis comic see the aged Steve Rogers hand over the mantle…
to a certain Sam Wilson, the Falcon.
And hand over a certain shield.
Well, in the last few days, copies of that comic book have been booming in sales, with multiple copies selling between $25 and $30.
However for those who want the first issue of the aged Steve Rogers, Captain America #21, by Remender and Nic Klein saw Steve Rogers live a life in a parallel universe before returning to this one. The aging happened differently though, shortly after Steve Roger's return.
That issue is a two buck comic right now.
And the first issue of Sam Wilson as Captain America fully is All-New Captain America #1 by Remender and Stuart Immonen has had a lot of sales, but still mostly between $4 and $5. A lot of room to grow there.
But for a full life lived until old age, you would have to look to a parallel universe crossover issue Captain America #10, part of House of M: World of M, and written by Ed Brubaker and Lee Weeks. And while Steve Rogers married Peggy Carter…
Appears before McCarthy witchhunts against mutants in 1951 and walks on the moon in 1955…
It's not the great home life for Steve and Peggy.
Not quite as idyllic…
Though she remains the love of his life.
That also sells dirt cheap – if you can find it.
And for a certain Hail Hydra moment, well that would be the back-to-his-normal-age Captain America: Steve Rogers#1 by Nick Spencer and Jesus Saiz.
Especially considering the fuss Chris Evans made at the time…
You said it, Chris, not us… and again, selling for two or three bucks.
