A Comic Book Find Of 2012- Michal Suchanek

"My boyfriend is making a comic book based on short stories of Czech sci-fi writer Ondrej Neff. He is working on this almost a year and I think that he's started to loose his faith in this project (maybe he's loosing his mind too :) . So, Reddit, what do think? Any positive comments?"

That's how one of the bigger upvoted Reddit comics posts went this past week. And with the artwork shown below, from one Michal Suchanek, no wonder.

Michal Suchanek's girlfriend gave more details.

We are from the Czech republic and local market is totally different. He already spoke with the publisher, so we know that if he finish his work, it will be published. We also know that there is no chance to earn money on it (small country, only a few comics nerds…) – but really – I would love to know how the public accept his work.

It should be published in Czech, but I hope that there will be some option to make it in English, too (maybe a digital version or something like that) I am little bit worried about the publisher – they might have a problem with translation.

The pictures are from two different stories. One is about forbidden love with hot alien girl and second one is about evil nazis and a girl who wants a revenge.

This is his first comic project. Before that he made 3D cg artwork.

You can find his other work on michalsuchanek.cz. He was mainly 3D artist, but last year he wanted change it. He said that it took too much time to make a good 3D image, so he started with 2D images and this comic. Pretty ironic when you realised that he works on this for a year :)

I would upload more images, but he wouldn't let me. He is too shy for that .

Interested folk should get in touch.
