Comixology Bestseller List, 1st December 2019 – Uncanny X-Men In Crisis?

Welcome to the Comixology Bestseller list, your guide to see how well your favorite titles are selling digitally. Every week I'll post the ranking of every new title, plus a ranking of the best selling volumes & graphic novels. As always, I hope you find it interesting and informative.

So we have a tie this week in the Top 10, with DC and Marvel grabbing 5 spots apiece. And once again, the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays seem to be a lot more competitive than the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays. And we can see this with Uncanny X-Men: it sells weekly so assuming sales are consistent, it acts as a perfect measuring stick. It debuted at No. 7 (2nd Wednesday), jumped up to No. 3 (3rd Wednesday), and has fallen back down to No. 8 (4th Wednesday). I've been doing this for a while and I have never seen such a dramatic rise and fall in just three issues. If it rises again next week, we'll have our answer. So if it is the case, would the Big 2 benefit by moving some of their release schedules to even things out?

It looks like people need to know which one of their beloved characters Tom R.R. King will kill off next, because Heroes in Crisis took the No. 1 spot, beating Fantastic Four and Action Comics. And while it continues to receive some very mixed reactions from the Bleeding Cool commenters, Heroes in Crisis is right up there with Justice League: No Justice and Man of Steel for best-selling miniseries of 2018.

Some quick hits for Marvel: Charles Soule's final issue of Daredevil got a 9-point boost. Daredevil will be the last Marvel hero to get the Fresh Start treatment (in February), so we'll see if this tiny break helps or hurts. Ironheart got off to a solid start at No. 17.

Unfortunately, it appears there's only room for one Wolverine, as Dead Man Logan debuted at No. 20, with little improvement from the Old Man Logan numbers. Not bad, but it's a far cry from the Top 10, where Return of Wolverine currently resides. (I don't want to be too harsh on DML. Personally, I thought it was one of the best books of the week).
