Deadpool And Rogue Really Move That Needle In Today's Uncanny Avengers #22 (Spoilers)

I said we'd come back to this issue. Uncanny Avengers #22. And why not, it's a fun read with some gorgeous art from Pepe Larazz and David Curiel.

Seriously, look at this panel and tell me that doesn't move your needle.

Some interesting panel layout to emphasise that the scene is happening in Rogue's head, a knocked back Captain America and Wolverine to indicate their distance, some gnarly doodling on those bones, a good strong central face which – okay, yes, could be engaged in sexual congress of some sorts I suppose, but it's a strong mix of cartoony exaggeration with a knowledge of anatomy, and a great mix of dark and light, colour and shading that sets it apart on the page, with a strong emotional impact. And why is Rogue going through such an experience?

Oh yes, she's kissing Deadpool.

Which you might not have thought was the most pleasant of experiences.

But it seems Rogue disagrees.image-11

And while the Red Skull, who they have spent the last few issues obsessing over has escaped from the custody they just placed him into, clearly they have other things on their minds. Or in their minds.

There has not been a lot of shipping Rogue and Deadpool together online. Very little in fact. Is it possible there will be more? But we do have to mention a certain cut scene from the Deadpool video game…
