Fábio Moon And Gabriel Bá To Release Emotive Brazilian Tale Two Brothers
From Dark Horse, comes the latest collaboration between Brazilian siblings Fábio Moon and Gabriel Bá. Two Brothers gives readers a deeply moving reading experience similar to their previous books De:Tales and Daytripper. The story focuses on twin brothers Omar and Yaqub who are very different from one another. After a fight over their mother, Yaqub is sent from his home to live with relatives in Lebanon. When he returns to Brazil five years later, his tensions with Omar remain unchanged. Two Brothers is a story about identity, love, loss, deception, and the dissolution of blood ties, sure to resonate with readers.
World Literature Today has commented on the book by saying:
Moon and Bá's visual approach is more suggestive than representative but manages just the right amount of detail.
Based on a work by the acclaimed novelist Milton Hatoum, Two Brothers is reimagined by the award-winning graphic novelists Fábio Moon and Gabriel Bá. The book sounds like it's going to tug at our heartstrings and I absolutely love how the cover is vintage illustrated. That alone, elicits so much emotion from myself as a future reader. The story is said to celebrate the vibrant life and diversity of Brazil, so we will be getting a culturally informative text as well. I look forward to getting my hands on this book which is set to release October 27, 2015.
