Last month, there was a lot of fuss after DC Comics deleted a promotional image of a variant cover of Frank Miller and Rafael Granpa's Dark Knight Returns: The Golden Child, after complaints by Chinese protestors that it was a reference to Hong Kong street protestors. DC took it off social media but kept the cover on their comics. Howrver the phrase on the promo was picked up and appeared on the streets, in a classic example of the Streisand Effect. And today DC are using the same promotional image in all their comic books. Just in case anyone at Metro Comics in Hong Kong wanted to hold a copy up and wave it about. Here's the house ad in question.
