Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Needs a New Artist in August

Marvel's full August solicitations have dropped, and though we already knew an awful lot about what Marvel has planned, there were also quite a few previously unannounced issues, as well as some other interesting tidbits for eagle-eyed readers. One thing notably missing, from the solicits, however, is an artist for the two issues of Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man hitting stores that month.

Well, to be fair, Marvel does name an artist. TBA, the superstar creator whose name has been used to launch a thousand Marvel marketing campaigns. Unfortunately, TBA never seems to make their way to the final product, always being replaced by a different writer or artist by the time the issue ships. So it's safe to assume that TBA will once again be replaced in August's Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man… but by who?

We know that Patrick Gleason, who recently jumped ship from DC to Marvel, will be debuting with a short story in Amazing Spider-Man #25, as well as one in Marvel Comics #1000. And after that, he is supposed to join the Amazing Spider-Man creative team. Maybe he'll take a brief detour through Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man first? Or does Marvel have someone else in mind?

We'll find out more in the coming weeks, we're sure, if nothing else by San Diego Comic-Con. Who would you like to see on the book?
