Immortal Hulk to End With Its Fiftieth Issue

Immortal Hulk by Al Ewing, Joe Bennett, Ruy José and Paul Mounts is the best comic book Marvel Comics is publishing by far. Sorry, Donny Cates, Jonathan Hickman, but it is. Reminiscent in parts of Alan Moore, Steve Bissette and Rick Veitch's Swamp Thing, it has taken the Hulk back to its horror roots, and created a narrative about power, those who wield it, what it does to them and the consequences they face, all while still hitting things very hard and turning the body horror dial up to eleven.

But all things must come to an end. And Joe Bennett just posted the news on his Instagram, talking about the Immortal She-Hulk one-shot spin-off he is doing the cover for, and out in September.

Immortal Hulk to End With Fiftieth Issue

That Immortal Hulk will come to an end with its fiftieth issue. Which should then give is over four years of pure brilliance – if they stick the ending well of course. And I have no doubt they will. No pressure lads.

The most recent issue of Immortal Hulk #33 was published way back at the end of March – though the UK had to wait a couple of months. The next issue, Immortal Hulk #34 will be out on June 24th. So that gives us a year and a half worth left to enjoy. So no tears, okay? Here are the next three issues to come…

(W) Al Ewing (A) Joe Bennett, Ruy Jose (CA) Alex Ross
You'd never notice the man. He doesn't like to be noticed. He's quiet. Calm. Never complains. If someone were to walk up and shoot him in the head… all he'd do is die.
Until night falls. And someone else gets up again.
The man's name is Banner.
The horror is THE IMMORTAL HULK.
