Alpha Flight, Dark X-Men, Jean Grey, Uncanny Spider-Man, Uncanny Avengers, Realm Of X, Ms Marvel: New Mutant all out today. XSpoilers!
There are a lot of Krakoan X-Men Vs Orchis comic books out this week. A lot. Seven main books, Alpha Flight #4, Dark X-Men #3, Jean Grey #3, Uncanny Spider-Man #2, Uncanny Avengers #3, Realm Of X #3, Ms Marvel: New Mutant #3 with appearances from Amazing Spider-Man #36, Immortal Thor #3, Hallows Eve: The Big Night #1 as well. Ten titles? Oh yes, here we go.
Captain America is preparing for his Big Mutant Speech in Uncanny Avengers #3. Captain America speeches usually deserve their very own article, so we'll get to that. But the USA is not the only county on the planet affected.
The mutants are disappointed with Canada over in Alpha Flight #4, as Orchis set up shop in Canafa's governmental Department H, hope of the Flight initiatives.
Jean Grey #3 heads to the past of Inferno, but ties in directly with the events in Immortal X-Men #16 as its opening.
This is not just one of Marvel's nostalgia projects with the original writers, this is absolutely explaining the current state of Jean Grey. and maybe Madelyne Pryor as well.
Madelyne Pryor, over in Dark X-Men #3, is under assault from hallucigenic mutant plants, as is often the case. so while Jean Grey gets a historical recap in her titles from Madelyne's point of view in her title.
In Dark X-Men, it's Madelyne whp gets the same historical recap…
And as Madelyne Pryo operates out of a certain Limbo embassy in New York City…
..that might be the best place for the Dark X-Men to find sanctuary.
I mean Emplate could ask his sister….
But she's just left New York for Washington DC and also seems a bit tied up in Uncanny Avengers.
There are other X-Men operating in New York, of course, but if Nightcrawler is feeling this way about his mother right now…
Maybe the Dark X-Men bringing his father into the mix might not be great.
Let alone a parallel version of himself that doesn't exactly play well with others.
So where might mutants find safe habour?
Over in Vanaheim?
Maybe not now that Saturnyne has muscled in.
The Limbo embassy?
Maybe not, Luke Cage knows the score on this one.
So if not the Limbo embassy, how about another planet half way across the galaxy, the Shi'Ar throneworld?
Maybe just too far. And too mockable.
Or how about a very large Mexican vegetable outgrowth?
Although, could there be a way to turn this all around? With those words Captain America is so very fond of?
Though it is too late for Warren Worthington III, the Angel. One of the original X-Men…
Now an original cloud of ashes. And as Orchis operate from New York's Empire State University, trying to track down Ms Marvel, as they have already literally gotten inside her head.
and plan another way to destroy all the remainin mutants after their assault on Krakoa for the Hellfire Gala.
Orchis have all manner of mind-controlling poejcts in play, it seems, mostly in New York…
And while this Omega Sentinel Karima Shapandar from the future is behind all of Orchis, that doesn't mean all of Orchis are behind her.
Does someone at Orchis suspect that it might not be entirely gerat to be replaced by machines? Oh look, there's another one.
Words can do damage too…
That trial of Cyclops is coming. And back on campus, was this the real Ms Marvel in Hallow's Eve: Big Night, at Empire State University?
Possibly not, but at least someone is wearing the costume. Albeit the old one. And it looks like X-Men Red writer Al Ewing is going to bring Storm, in her Regent Of Sol, Queen of Arakko era, into the Immortal Thor action…
While Ms Marvel imagines Wolverine in the Hot Dog Universe of Everything Everywhere All At Once…
See? Doesn't have to be all doom and gloom for the X-Men… there is still some hope.
