Jeff Lemire and Dustin Nguyen's Ascender, Confirmed for April 2019

In the new Diamond Previews publications out today for March 2019 comic books, Image Comics previews what's coming in April as well.

We knew that Jeff Lemire and Dustin Nguyen were working on a sequel to their Descender series following a robot named Tim-21 through his adventures in space. Called Ascender, we knew it was for 2019. Now we know when… April 2019.

the machines have gone away and have been replaced by magic, which has claimed the universe.

Now one girl must embark on an epic quest to find robotkind and its fabled boy messiah, TIM-21, before it's too late…

A few years ago, Sony Pictures acquired the movie rights to Descender after a competitive bidding war. Josh Bratman is producing, with Lemire and Nguyen serving as executive producers. Jesse Wigutow, writer of the Tron: Legacy sequel, was announced as the screenwriter.
