Jordan White Cancels #XMenMonday Again, Promotes Music Career Instead
For the second week in a row, Marvel X-Editor Jordan White has canceled the most important weekly comic book holiday, X-Men Monday. The news comes exactly one week (as that's how often Mondays occur) after the celebration of all things X-Men was canceled, apparently due to the looming midterm elections.
With no elections happening this week, it seemed a sure thing that White would perform his contractual duties (heh… doodies) and share preview pages of upcoming X-Men comics on his Twitter account. As it turns out however, white has instead decided to fulfill his parental duties (heh… doodies) and stay home with his child since some schools are closed for Veterans Day.
But while White refused to share X-Men previews, he wasn't shy about promoting his burgeoning career in the music industry, as White is one of the most famous ukulele players in the world, right behind Israel Kamakawiwoʻole and Tiny Tim, and we're not just saying that because we can't think of any other ukulele players off the top of our heads. Okay, that's exactly why we're saying it. But still!
Though he would not give us our X-Men previews, he did have time to post links to previous songs he's written and performed about the X-Men.
For shame, Jordan White. Of course, White's betrayal of X-Men fans should be no surprise, considering White was once captured on panel at an anti-mutant hate rally, holding a sign that read "no more mutants."
Will X-Men Monday finally return next week? Unless White's ukulele career takes off quickly, we can probably expect him to return to posting X-Men previews eventually. Until then, in these dark, previewless times for X-Men fans, we can take solace in the fact that Uncanny X-Men #1 hits stores this Wednesday.
