Journey Into Misery
There will be spoilers for the last issue of Thor in here. But I will try to remain as spoiler free for Journey Into Mystery #643 as I can. I may fail.
In the last issue of Thor, we discovered that the herald to Surtur was Leah, Loki's best-friend-forever, that he had to sacrifice in a deal with Hela, and that she was only ever a part of Hela, literally her "hand maiden". And yet somehow she was returned, looking slightly older, not very well, and full of righteous fury against Loki. Naturally Tumblr racked up.
What they will do today… I'm not quite sure. I think it's going to get a lot worse, a lot quickly.
Because we discover the nature of this Leah, and no she is not the original. Or rather she is the original, but she is more of a… previous continuity spinoff made meta-flesh. Read it, you'll get it.
But it's not the nature of Leah we have to worry about here. It's the nature of Loki.
Journey Into Mystery has been about many things. Fresh starts. The influence of reputation on action. Nurture vs nature. Vs Surtur. Many wanted this moment. Many wanted the opposite.
But for those enraged, remember one thing. Loki lies.
