Juan José Ryp Joins X-O Manowar in September, Plus a Preorder Bundle with Exclusive Whilce Portacio Covers

Pre-ordering comics is far from the most ideal way to shop, but Valiant Entertainment has been trying to make things at least a little bit easier with their pre-order bundles, which offer bonus pages, extra content, and exclusive covers to readers willing to commit to an entire story arc at once. It's kind of like buying the trade paperback ahead of time. A press release from Valiant provides more details:

Released monthly from September 2018 through December 2018, each PRE-ORDER EDITION comes packed with trade paperback-style extras and bonus content, including creator commentary, behind-the-scenes looks at the creation of the comics, process character designs and artwork, and first looks at upcoming issues – plus exclusive covers by Whilce Portacio (Uncanny X-Men) that can't be found anywhere else!

The only way to obtain these exclusive items is to pre-order all four issues with your local comic shop by the final order cut-off date of September 3rd, 2018! No more copies will be made available beyond that date and subsequent issues will not be offered in later solicitations!

As for the comic itself, a new arc kicks off in September's X-O Manowar #19, by Matt Kindt and Juan José Ryp, which Valiant is billing as a jumping-on point for the series. For more on that:

Beyond time, space, and reality, there lies the Unknown…and now it's coming here! When soldiers from a mysterious foreign realm arrive on Earth, it's up to the armored Visigoth known as X-O Manowar – newly returned to the planet and now the leader of his own elite G.A.T.E. unit – to deal with the intrusion. But are these otherworldly emissaries truly the threat they appear to be, or does a larger danger loom over the Valiant Universe still?

On September 26th, worlds collide as New York Times best-selling writer Matt Kindt (DIVINITY, Grass Kings) and dazzling artist Juan José Ryp (NINJA-K) bring a new plane of existence crashing down upon our own in a brand-new jumping-on point for 2017's best-selling series!

All that for a comic about a jellyfish? Check out the solicits below, and print out the order slip and hand it in to your local comic shop if you want to get in on this hot preorder action.

Sadly, that prophecy was wrong. Oh, Jude Terror was right. For ten years. About everything. But nobody listened.
