Ken Mullen Wins Tempe Arts Prize for Stan Lee Chalk Drawing

The Tempe Festival of The Arts in Arizona that has just run this weekend celebrates local art, including running a pavement chalk artist competition.

The winner this year, as reported by Redditor butwipe123 was one Ken Mullen, with this tribute to Marvel universe co-creator Stan Lee, who died a month ago.

And very popular with passers by it seems… enough to win the prize. You can see more of Ken Mullen's work here.

There was some controversy recently in Tempe after a planned cosplay memorial walk from Phoenix Comic Con volunteers the Blue Ribbon Army was cancelled over permit issues, but was then relocated.
