Lee Weeks Art On Display At Liberty University
The Liberty University Art Gallery in Lynchburg, Virginia is featuring works from comic artist Lee Weeks from now until November 10th. Weeks is best known for his work on Daredevil, Batman: Gauntlet, Gambit and Spider-Man: Death & Destiny. Weeks has also worked as a writer, most recently scripting the Angels Unaware story in Daredevil: Dark Nights.
Weeks' art was also featured in the 17th volume of Modern Masters in 2008.
Weeks visited the school, telling his story and demonstrating his work to the students of the Studio and Digital Arts department.
In an exert from an interview given to the university's website, Weeks spoke to them about his faith and how it affects his career choices.
Because of his strong convictions, Weeks said he has become a "vagabond" of sorts in the industry. He will not commit to a story he is uncomfortable with in light of his faith, he said. But he continues to receive calls for comic book jobs, which he supplements with commissioned work, conventions, and even some Christian art.
Weeks expressed what a tremendous honor it is for him to display works at Liberty, where he enjoys being able to freely talk about his beliefs, which is much different from when he speaks at other colleges.
