Looks Like Captain Marvel Was Right About Civil War II – But Has The US President Abandoned Her?

At the end of Civil War II, Captain Marvel met up with the President Of The USA. Or, at least, his silhouette. And he made her a promise.

His piggy bank was open? In that case, why does this exist?

Captain Marvel resorting to licensing her name for a TV superhero show, Cap'n Marvel in order to raise funds for Alpha Flight in the new Mighty Captain Marvel #1?

Everyone seems to insist that the budget of an extra-terrestrial space station defence force can be… funded by a TV show. Doesn't anyone know how much TV makes these days?

Maybe she's just not talking to the President anymore? Whichever President it is meant to be?

Well, she did bring a Minority Report-style fascist system of justice down upon America with some very unpleasant results. By the way, did you know, the original script to that film had a serious cut made to its final moments? Originally the text at the end talking about the decommissioning of the Minority Report system of using precog justice ended saying that the murder rate was up. and up big. It was an intentional sour note, underlining the price of idealism. Its absence harmed the film but made it more palatable to the idealism-seeking audience.

Well, do you remember how Captain Marvel first used Ulysses, the Inhuman precog? To take down Thanos, arriving at the PEGASUS institution to steal SHIELD's cosmic cube? And how the battle left James Rhodes dead, She-Hulk in a coma and more? And Tony Stark really annoyed?

Well in U.S.Avengers, we get to see what would have happened if Ulysses hadn't been available to Captain Marvel…

Everybody died! Apart from Tony Stark…

And if there was any doubt when this happened?

Captain Marvel was right! Now if only the politicians would live up to their promises.

They've gone and spent it all on Maria Hill's wall, haven't they?

Captain Marvel #1 and USAvengers #2 are both published by Marvel today.
