Malekith to Exploit Trump Shutdown in War of the Realms Avengers Tie-In?

This April, Malekith will take his war to conquer the realms to the pages of Avengers for a tie-in starting with Avengers #13. War of the Realms is set to be Marvel's biggest-ever super-mega-crossover event, but it's coming at a time when the country is in crisis, amidst the longest government shutdown of all time. Malekith is a smart strategist, so it's no surprise that he would seize the opportunity to invade Washington DC, the capital of the United States, while the country's security forces are in disarray thanks to the government shutdown.

That's what will happen in Avengers #18, which sees the War of the Realms go to Washington. To stop it, according to the solicits, Agent Coulson will be bringing the all-new Squadron Supreme of America. But will they even show up if they're not getting a paycheck? Can Trump manage to negotiate a deal with Democrats to reopen the government before April? Or has he been colluding with Malekith all along? Sad.

Maybe Marvel Chairman Ike Perlmutter can convince his close friend and associate, the president, to end this crisis before Malekith arrives.
