Mark Waid's History of the Marvel Universe Promises Unknown Secrets, Shocking Revelations

Marvel has sent out a press release for History of the Marvel Universe, the new six-issue mini-series written by Mark Waid with art by Javier Rodriguez and Alvaro Lopez and covers by Steve McNiven which "will reveal previously unknown secrets and shocking revelations" about Marvel's continuity. The book and creative team were announced at C2E2, along with some art, but now we have more art, and more details, and while it might have seemed to be something like Ed Piskor's X-Men: Grand Design when first revealed, now it feels like Marvel could be planning to use the series to make some changes, or some fixes, to their continuity. Let's look more closely:
